Great book. It brought back a lot of memories. My only complaint is the use of ‘CE’ & ‘BCE’ instead of AD & BC. It seems odd to use these terms in a nostalgic book. I suspect that a quite few people had to look up the meaning of CE & BCE. The oddest thing of all is that these terms are still based on the (assumed) date of Christ’s birth!

There are so many topics which were never really covered in school, or were not understood, or didn’t exist at the time. This little book attempts to demystify some of them

Found out about this book from doing the quiz in the Daily Mail magazine on a Saturday.
Didn’t realise how much I had forgotten or missed out on.
Enjoyed getting back to basics with the rules for Rugby Union;(I know they keep changing them!), and have enjoyed learning the Greek alphabet.
Nice to dip in and out of when you have five minutes and makes a change from the dross that is on TV most of the time.

I have bought this as a gift for a colleague who speaks English fluently but needs to learn that little bit extra. The way this book is written makes it easier to comprehend.

An enjoyable read taking you back to youur school days and I was pleasantly surprised how much I actualy remembered, learned a few bits too. The info is nicely presented dotted with humour and in a style I can associate with some of my better teachers back in the day.

I saw this book in a well known book shop, and bought it on Amazon at a fraction of the price, top marks to Amazon.
This book takes you back to the days of your childhood, with great humour and sentiment, whilst waking up the grey matter at the same time.
It is amazing just how much of the book relates to my learning at school, and will no doubt stand me in good stead, when my children’s homework becomes challening!! It is a great reference book, I will be back to order more at Christmas to give out to friends and family.
    A superb book.

Probably knew most of this stuff years ago, but had forgotten most of it. A nice idea, well executed. Really a book for browsing rather than reading from cover to cover. Enjoyed it.
