Hope
£33.30
This portrait project began as therapy for myself and grew into
something quite unexpected. I painted the portraits of 101 NHS and
key workers through breast cancer treatment and covid, presented
where possible with a little ceremony, bling and publicity …… a little
morale boost at a very difficult time.
This book has captured snapshots and reflections of our covid
experiences before they are forgotten, so many different experiences
giving a little insight into the impact of covid on individuals and our
communities over the last three years. This has now become a ‘team’
book, a local story of our shared journey through covid. HOPE has
been a constant companion on our journey …………. HOPE for a
vaccine and survival (it sounds a bit dramatic now, but that is how it
felt at the time).

This special book is an fascinating insight into the thoughts, ideas and feelings of a variety of Front line workers during the Covid Pandemic.
We all have a memory of Covid, however, in time memories become blurred.. until the Pandemic is just a mention in our history books.
I believe this book could be a monumental asset to Students and Historians of the effects on the lives of everyone who lived through the Covid Pandemic

I have purchased this book and has been interesting reading and account of people’s experiences through the Pandemic. Inspirational for the author to throw herself into her Art while being diagnosed with Cancer and the treatment afterwards.

One persons journey through cancer during Covid and the “thank you” portraits given to the local NHS team and key support workers during that time. A wonderful way to express gratitude and also enable the team to share their individual feelings and experiences of the pandemic.

This is a wonderful record of a simultaneous journey through Breast Cancer and Covid. A true testament to the resilience of the NHS and the amazing skill of the author/artist. Truly Heart-warming – a recommended read.

It was an honour to be part of this project. It is wonderful to read the thoughts of the frontline workers whose portraits are captured in this book. It was a moment in time and hopefully many will read this book now and in the future.
