    What a pretty dreadful book.

No doubt the author can sell sand to the Arabs and ice to the Eskimos, and has probably been responsible for training many of the double glazing sales people that plague millions of us via those unwanted cold phone calls.

If you do not have a conscience and are looking for a book to help turn you into a pushy, unethical snake oil salesman (or woman), this book is for you.

I would stress the word “unethical” to describe some of the advice given in this book as the author prescribes being economical with the truth on a number of pages. He does not use the word “lies” of course but instead uses the euphemism of “being cheeky” – saying things to prospective customers that are blatantly not true, in order to get them to buy things that YOU want them to buy, irrespective of whether they really want them or not.

Also the book offers great advice in how to be really pushy – ie, foot-in-the-door type of advice, spread throughout the book. It also offers some sound advice on getting referrals and leads from weak-minded or gullible people whom you have not even met yet, let alone done business with. The book also offers many example scripts that you can use to manipulate secretaries and receptionists so you can be put through to people who have expressly said “no sales people”.

If you do not have a conscience, happy to steal from your grandmother, and want great advice on being one of those dreadful pushy sales people that normal individuals with ethics and manners hate, then this book is just for you.

This book is basically a combination of ‘Solution Selling: Creating Buyers in Difficult Selling Markets’ and ‘An Introduction to NLP’.

If you have read both of these books you will find very little new.

If you are yet to read any books on Selling this would be a good starting point as all the bases are covered.

A well researched book, with plenty of practical, well structured advice. A step by step approach which gives you all the necessary steps to improve and increase your sales. This book unlike so many others really got me to evaluate my own techniques and identify where I could make major improvements. Practical advice that will actually help, hopefully I will see some results soon!

So much of selling is about how you approach the sale, and really understanding the impact that you are having. Bruce has managed to capture the essence of the best and provides it in an easy to understand clear text that inspires and motivates as you read. Bruce starts with the end in mind, fixes your sales time management and moves onto the other sales blockers we suffer from. Bruce ensures results from day one.”

“Bruce has the ability to turn complex theories into simple and practical methods to improve your performance. Clear and concise guidance that makes sense, you can believe in and more importantly do. There are no ‘silver bullets’ out there or ‘one thing’ that makes the difference, however Bruce summarises the important activities successful people should do …. and they work”.
