Disappointed to be frank. It would appear that this book is a sales tool in which to gain new customers for the authors SEO company. There did seem to be some fairly useful info in here for a complete beginner such as myself, but I found that you really had to pick through the bones to find any meat. The author states that the book may not be well written as they are SEO experts, not authors. Fair enough, but that doesn’t make it any better for readers who have to try to remain engaged in what is ultimately a boring, technical subject. The most disappointing part was signing up for a website review, only to be that because our marketing budget was less than 1k per month we would receive some video training INSTEAD (yes in capitals, presumably to assist the small business owner in understanding that they would not receive the promised free website review). No thanks. Waste of time and money for me personally but could be ok if you are looking to engage a team of SEO experts. Smaller businesses, probably best to look elsewhere.

Painful in that I have now done quite a lot of re-work on my site because of the comments in this book and hopefully the changes will make (over time as google etc can move super quick, it can also be pretty slow and still show stuff that is long out of date on my site … i.e. not actually there any more) – I am not expecting instant results but this book has been a joy to read and I even learnt a load about Panda, probably at the point where the site sort of went sliding downwards … thanks to this book, I understand it a whole lot more. Thank you. Totally recommended

Invaluable practical advice from people with the knowledge and experience, who have been there and done it, to help you get to the top of Google. Contains advice on stuff that you know that you don’t know and stuff that you don’t know that you don’t know! I’ve only scratched the surface really of using some of the tools and strategies in this gem of a little book and I’m being kept busy with work from new clients. If you’re starting a new business with an online presence buy it now.

So I’ve been out of the SEO game for a few years and wanted something to bring me upto speed with whats new, I’m guessing these books are just updated slightly now and again as they seem to be print on demand, lots of fluff and old basic info widely available.

A fantastic book, one of the best I have read on the subject. The content itself is easy to understand and I have signed up to future updates of the book. Personally I liked the larger print, when it is too small I can get headaches. After I finished this book, I went and purchased the content and PR book from the same company.
