The Terry the Monkey series is fast becoming an essential part of any library – not just for kids but for adults who want to learn how to communicate on everyday subjects using BSL, which despite the limelight brought by films like The Silent Child still isn’t getting the attention it needs.

Written with customary wit, warmth and confidence, and as ever with one eye on the work of such classic storytellers as Edward Gorey, Charles Addams and Quentin Blake, Joe Jacobs’ latest Terry volume is his best yet. The illustrations get better and better, and like all good educational children’ books this never feels like learning.

This series is crying out for a nice lavish omnibus edition in shops. Hope a publisher gets in on the monkey’s act in time for Christmas.

Another great instalment to the Terry the Monkey series! This fun and easy way to learn the signs for different foods and will surely help many children and adults, as well as making BSL a lot more accessible and raising awareness of it’s importance.

Another fantastic Terry the Monkey book in what is becoming a ‘must have’ series of books. Author and illustrator Joe Jacobs continues to effortlessly balance education and fun. This time Terry teaches us about food and certainly leaves the reader hungry for more books in this brilliant series.
