I love this series of books, I feel they have taught me a lot about working with children with additional needs. This book makes it clear how important it is that both schools and parents work together to support the child, but it also makes it clear that there is no easy cure-all fix for this and while there are things that can help manage the condition there is nothing you can do that will truly calm it down. This is hard to accept, but the author makes a lot of good suggestions which are very helpful to maintaining a structured classroom, which can help you to feel like at least you’re on the right track and you’re trying, as ADHD can be very overwhelming.

Very easy to read and digest ..Like most credible strategies what he tells us feels like common sense.
Through the insights from someone who has real world experience of this neuro difference. I was left with the sense that if more thought like Fintan, Adhd would be a manageable difference rather than a disorder.

Bought for my son who is a Special Needs Support Assistant. He wishes to expand his knowledge of the subject and welcomed receiving this book.
He is yet to read it fully but at first glance believes it will be helpful to him.

Would highly recommend to teachers as well as anyone involved in the care of a child with ADHD

It is written by an experienced teacher, mainly for other teachers, and seems good for that purpose. It will not particularly help parents or clinical staff. It is practical and accurate, but quite brief and lacks detail. For more detail on aetiology, treatement, management outside the classroom, the books by Brown or Gillberg may be better.

Clear, informative & easy to read & understand. I highly recommend this book. Finton is an expert and gifted speaker on this subject.
