This book may be small and compact in size, but it certainly is packed full of incredible tips and tricks for managing and understanding depression. I think so many people don’t really understand what the term depression means, and all the signs and symptoms of depression. This guide highlights some really key things that can help to manage your feelings on a day-to-day basis.

This little book really is a gem. Just when you might be feeling overwhelmed, this accessible little book offers pertinent information and friendly advice. It not only provides the science behind depression and how it manifests itself, such as physical and social symptoms, but also leads you step by step through the healing process, including what to expect once you have sought help by including information about what happens at a consultation, and the medical treatments and therapies that may be offered. It provides physical and practical steps to alleviate the symptoms of depression, such as diet, mindfulness, visualisation and breathing exercises. I felt that this book provides a metaphorical ‘arm around the shoulders’ and provides some reassurance at a difficult or challenging time.
