A thoroughly enjoyable and heartwarming romance, with two engaging and entertaining characters.
The mix of other characters was great.
Highly recommended

First time reading from this author, really enjoyed this book, loved the characters and the story line but I wish it was a bit longer I felt the ending was rushed which is a shame

This story reeks of You’ve Got Mail vibes. Except the heroine knew who he was from the beginning really, and the reveal lacked the impact I was hoping for. Maverick Monroe is the college football legend, hoping to go pro, and Delaney Shaw’s a nerd who loves Star Wars, The Princess Bride, and has a soft spot for cats, so it’s also an opposites attract trope.
However, it turns out they’re not that different. The build up of their relationship through texts while she doesn’t know for definite who he is, even though she suspects, is nice to read. The build up is so full of feels it makes the steamy scenes even better.
There’s plenty of angst too, mainly caused by the issues in Maverick’s life. He’s got so much going on: trying his best to take care of his sister, win over Delaney, as well as become a pro footballer. The reader is on tenterhooks most of the time, waiting for it all to fall apart.
I’ve struggled finding much to write about. I enjoyed the book, but there was something missing and I don’t know what. There’s an adorable couple, great build up of tension, some nice steamy scenes, a good dose of angst, and a nice resolution for the HEA. I’ve given it four stars because it deserves it, but I’m not raving.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had me giggle out loud through most of it! Delaney is so weird and fun and maverick is just as weird! I loved their story, their journey through heartbreak and grief and finding happiness in each other.

“Two stars in the sky, two souls destined to be together.”
I dare you was such a pleasant read. It was a great college romance that made me feel good but also brought tears to my eyes.
Delaney is a super nerd that designed her own clothes and she can quote any lines from Star Wars or the Princess Bride!
After a bad break up with a football player, Delaney swore that she would never get involved with any sport dudes … like NEVER!!
“Maverick makes me feel like I might toss aside everything I think about football players and give him a chance.”
However, when Maverick reappears in her life, she can only think about THE kiss and the legend.
“He’s perfection. He’s air. Which I desperately need right now, because I can’t breathe.”
Maverick… I LOVE HIM SO SO MUCH. He is arrogant, witty and so much more. The way he cares about his sister and his family, his devotion to his sister made me fall hard for him. He is the perfect package and the more Delaney gets to know him the more she realised that he is more than this hot sexy talented football star.
“We’re connected. Two stars in the black velvet sky. Two ships passing in the night.”
He never forgot the kiss they shared two years ago and he is determined to make Delaney his.
“You’re the one that got away, Delaney, the opportunity I missed.”
However, Maverick has to make choices to support his sister, will he put his career at risk? Can they get their HEA?
Go HE-Man!!!!!!
Adorable and endearing from beginning to end.

An emotional and exciting story. These two kept me entertained but especially so Delaney. She wasn’t your typical geek and she got me laughing whenever she stood up for herself.
Delaney and Maverick’s story also have a heart wrenching emotional feel to it as these two have been through a lot and for them to find true love was what each of them needed/deserves – a sense of belonging, family.
Although I enjoyed reading this book it wasn’t a five star for me because I just wasn’t feeling a couple or so chapters. It felt off, like I was reading a different book from the one I started off with. A good read all the same as it was emotional, exciting and engaging

I read this after seeing a sneak peak at the back of another book. It had me so intrigued.
Honestly it didn’t go how I thought it based off of what I got from the blurb and sneak peak but I was happy with how the story went regardless.
This is all things sweet.
Delaney and Maverick are complete opposites. He’s the handsome popular jock with confidence and the means to back it. Delaney is the nerdy anti social snarky chick with a Star Wars obsession and absolutely no idea just how beautiful she is. An unlikely pairing would be a understatement but it’s also the best thing about it. Everyone loves when the nerd and the jock fall in love. The best part is that they bring out something real special in eachother. Also despite first impressions, these characters run deep and come with some baggage that I definitely didn’t expect.
I love their crazy little journey of playing cat and mouse but not quite going all in. The teasing, bickering and banter just set the pace for a tension filled climactic build. The chemistry was always there but the connection that blossomed between them as they started to let go and just enjoy eachother was something so freaking sweet. Add in Maverick just being the best brother there ever was making me swoon for days and Delaney joining in on that sweet connection, honestly my heart melted.
It’s sweet and pretty low on angst but there is some drama that is relevant in their journey. It’s not all smooth sailing but as far as stories goes this one was definitely easy read all things considered. The characters are likeable and easy to connect to. The story flows perfectly from one page to the next and not once felt boring or repetitive.
If you want something not to heavy then this is a fun read for sure.
