As a runner that’s not getting any younger (!) and seeing friends having to stop running because of recurrent (badly managed?) injuries, I bought this to help me understand what I need to know/do to keep myself in the best running shape possible. It’s very readable – not much in there overwhelmed me with science etc – yet it delivers a high level of ‘smart’ information. Some running books are too simplistic, others way too technical, but this sits nicely in the middle. I now know lots that i did not before – for example, why leaning forwards when running is a good thing, and I understand a lot more about the feet in particular! The history of running shoe development is also very interesting. The whole book is a really engaging read – highly recommend.
