    People may slate this book but this book fundamentally covers all aspects of starting to grow your business on Instagram or IG as it commonly get’s referred to for short. Yes there may be some people out their who already know how Instagram works but there are others who don’t and to be honest no matter how much you may think you know, it’s best to start from the bottom and cover all bases. This book gives you a step by step guide from start to finish but like all books based on social media it can become very quickly out of date as processes change. Having said all that it has given me some useful tools and insights that even I didn’t know about and I’m really tetchy. Well worth a read if your interested in the subject at hand. I love all the ‘For Dummies’ guides as they simply put the facts into play without lots of over the top jargon.

    This is a soft backed book. Well written that like all For Dummies books assumes no prior knowledge. Great because as Instragram goes I certainly did, until used this book, have no experience of this marketing tool. The book opens with the following subject

    -Set up your account, profile, and analytics
    -Upload content and get smart with IG Stories and live video
    -Build and target paid advertising
    -Master the art of the hashtag

    Helpfully written, clear and to the point. I can now open an account and add things for my small business. Some of the screens don’t match those in the book so maybe Instagram as moved on a little ?
    Excellent index that really helps when looking for things.

    My wife’s been looking through this as she uses Instagram and although she’s nowhere near an expert she did say that some of it looked a little outdated. However it’s very good for walking you through some of more basic stuff to get started and serves as a good reference t check you’re not missing out on any techniques to make the best use of the platform.

    It’s well written and easily digested, like all of the “Dummies” books.

    This is a great book for people with a small company who want to start marketing on Instagram. There is a lot of transferable skills for things like Etsy and Facebook too.
    I was surprised just how much information this book contained.
    Marketed ‘for dummies’, but I found it informative, not patronising.

    The front cover of the book has been damaged. Can’t of been damage in transit as packaging had no signs of any type of damage at all.

    After a significant delay in waiting for this to be published it is already out of date. For instance the information about making reels bares no significance to the current instagram layout… There’s no information about using multicapture. I could go on… Massive waste of money. I’ve just had to use Google to find out how yo use these features. Not impressed!

    Brilliant book in terms of content (I’m only part way through and have already implemented a number of changes to my business insta page). The only slight annoyance is that the book talks about colours and shows examples… only the whole book is printed greyscale, making the examples not worth to the paper they’re written on. A colour version would be better, especially when the subject of Instagram is very visual (it reads as though the authors assumed it would be colour printed!)
