I’m really pleased with this book as it offers a lot more than I was expecting. There is access to dummies website that has audio to compliment the book. Very useful.

A good book but a touch frustrating. Go to […] to download talking the talk tracks. Oh yes? Er I think not. The page could either not be found or came up with just the written material that I have in the book.
That serious complaint to one side (if it does not work; don’t offer it is my view) the book is thorough and helpful. I would not come to it as a starter book though. I shall use it more as an Italian encylopaedia than as a learning course, for that sadly I need something else.

The book is very well structured in terms of introducing beginners to the Italian language. The chapters build on each other and one’s scope of the language is gradually being extended while learning new vocabulary, grammar as well as interesting and informative social and cultural context at the same time.
Having learned Italian at school for three years over thirty five years ago, this book has helped me to get back into as well as extending my knowledge quickly and easily.
