Jacked Up

£3.99

Little thief. Big problem.

JACK

When some billionaire tries to mess with my family, I decide to take personal revenge and break into his London penthouse when he’s abroad to steal some compensation. The issue? He’s not only very much home, but he’s huge. Even worse, he’s gorgeous and too bloody cheerful. Rather than call the police, he suggests that I stay until I’ve fixed what I’ve damaged. It’s only for a few days, but I start to realise this guy isn’t the villain I thought he was. In fact, he might be everything I’ve ever dreamed I could never have.

FELIX

It’s only a little light kidnapping, so I don’t feel too bad. Besides, this small, grumpy thief I’ve caught is too adorable. I’m drawn to his broken soul. I want to protect him from his troubles and dominate him in the bedroom. We’re perfect for each other but he’s determined to believe that he doesn’t belong in my world. Can I convince him to stay? Or is this fairy tale doomed before it’s even begun?

Jacked Up is a super steamy, standalone MM gay romance novel featuring one hell of a size difference, a romantic date in the clouds, a singing and matchmaking parrot, past wounds long overdue for healing, and a guaranteed HEA with absolutely no cliffhanger.

Same as all the rest of Helen Juliet’s books- brilliant! Such fun characters bought to life in this wonderful fairytale reimagining.

I love Helen Juliet, and I loved Jacked Up. The premise for this book was fantastic, and I adored both Jack and Felix. I’m a huge fan of Felix especially – who doesn’t love a near 7 ft tall billionaire with golden retreiver energy? I loved how much Felix needed to take care of someone, and Jack was SO in need of someone to care for him. I loved their self-imposed seclusion at Felix’s penthouse and how quickly they got to know each other and the ending was sheer perfection. The heat in the book surprised me, atlhough Helen Juliet ALWAYS provides fantastic spice. The ending and then epilogue were also perfect – I love seeing the happily ever after down the road. A fantastically perfect read, and another of Helen Juliet’s books goes on my comfort re-read shelf.

Jacked Up is just pure perfection. Jack and Felix are such beautiful, awesome, yet broken characters and I fell in love with them from the start and was rooting for them the whole way through. I WAS expecting the events that happened at the 76% mark, but I was still sobbing – it totally broke me. There’s even a cute featherbaby in the shape of Goose an awesome Parrot. My words just can’t do this book the review it deserves, so I’ll finish with this – it’s an absolute must read.

Thank You so much to Helen Juliet for my ARC of this awesome book.

MM, Opposites Attract, Close Proximity, Age Gap, D/s, Contemporary, Fairytale Retelling, Romance. Easy to read page-turner that is a stand-alone read with great characters that on a normal day would never meet. An interesting twist given to a classic tale, a great read full of emotion, angst, steam…so so much steam and a guaranteed HEA.

This is an interesting retelling for Jack and the Beanstalk with an age and size gap and insta-love.

When Jack decides to take revenge on his mum’s ex-employer he ends up with more than he expected. Felix is not sure what to make of the burglar trying to rob him, he only knows there is more to Jack than he first sees.

The book is 80% just the two of them in Felix’s penthouse. Normally I would say no other characters don’t make a good story but this one really flows and more and more layers are being removed (yes, also real ones) and both Felix and Jack discover quite some truth about themselves and how there is so much more to each other’s originally thoughts.

I love how Felix learns to re-live, yes, Jack may have started as a project because he was bored but it doesn’t take long for him to realise that Jack is what he needs to re-discover the joy of living.
Jack learns that he is worth more than his past and that he needs to let go of hurt and fear.

When their forced living arrangement comes to an end, Felix is the one who graps a new future buy both hands and does everything to show Jack that he means what he says.
The epilogue is just so sweet.

There is some BDSM element but it’s acutally quite low key.
