We bought this book a couple of months ago for our 3 year old in preparation for giving his dummy to Santa.
This book has a lovely story and from the first read, he was holding on to the dummy during the day worried it would just disappear! I am not sure how the actual removal will be, but I like how this book suggests to go about it.

I read some review said it doesn’t work for some children. I think it depends on the age of the kid. My kid is nearly 4. I told him the idea of giving his dummies to Santa and he loves it. He gave up his dummies straight away and he is very proud. And when I read him the story, some of the dialogues between the child and the mother sounded very similar to what we had in real life. We found it very funny

Great book. My two girls, ( 2 years old and 3 years old ) have successfully given their dummies to Santa and have never looked for any dummies since . Would highly recommend .

I was very disappointed with this book. It’s too complicated for my 2 year old and it’s not gentle in its approach. I had to change some of the words, as I felt they were unkind. Also, it not work in getting rid of his dummy!

I loved this book, the solution of using Santa with a stubborn child who is attached to their dummy worked really well for us! The only thing I would say is that it is a stupid idea to suggest that the night to give up the dummy be Christmas Eve. You know you’re going to get little sleep with a screaming child who is coping for the first night without their dummy. Then you’ve got an over-tired and miserable child all Christmas Day, not to mention the state of the parents! Luckily we saw that coming and did the deed a few nights before. All was settled come Christmas Eve!
