This book and this course works for me. I’m learning primarily on my own. I have a little input from a teacher. He is giving tips and guidance that I didn’t pick up from the books. I have to make my self slow down and read each page properly and do all the basic exercises. When I do this it works for me. I do a few pages at a time but I go back and forth. I like to repeat the exercises many times and by doing multiple pages it keeps it interesting. I am 49 and eventually getting round to learning. This is working for me. I would recommend buying an book of easy play music of a genre that you enjoy. I bought simple hymn tunes. This has helped me practice more easily.
I having nothing to compare this too. I am using this course as book 1 came with the keyboard I bought second hand.

My son is enjoying learning the piano using this book. I’ve bought book 2 too. I think some children might find it moved on quite quickly.
