All Mairie Hedderwick’s Katie Morag books are beautifully conceived and simply and beautifully written. The illustrations of the Isle of Struay are detailed and wonderful – they draw the children right into the island world. Dancing Class is up there with the rest – a story my children wanted to hear – and later read – again and again.

This book arrived virtually the next day. Well packaged and the perfect gift for my ballet dancing granddaughter.

Pink frills and Katie really don’t go together! Poor grannies! Each trying to help Katie out. Lovely story and great detailed illustrations. We love these books and this one didn’t disappoint. We had just read it and then it appeared on TV!

My daughter has always loved the Katie Morag books and, as she also loves her ballet classes, I thought this would appeal. I downloaded this on my kindle fire and you can only view the book in landscape mode, with a double page spread on each screen view. The print is quite small, but if you tap on it, the print will enlarge and that makes it easier to read.
When it is announced that there will be dancing classes on the Isle of Struay, Katie Morag declares she has better things to do on a Saturday morning. However, Grannie Island and Grannie Mainland have different ideas…. With both of them declaring it would be good for her coordination and Grannie Mainland already making a frilly frou-frou skirt, Katie Morag finds herself enrolled for ballet lessons. Katie Morag’s unwillingness to do ballet and her eventual discovery of a dance she does like makes great reading. As always, the illustrations are wonderful and Katie Morag is a lovely character. Another great story in the series.

My grand daughter has loved these stories for a few years. She asked me if I could get her some books to go with the new series on TV. She is introducing younger friends and relatives to the joy of Katie Morag and they are loving it to.
