Knight Unchained (Black Veil University Book 5)

£4.00

I finally have the life I’ve always dreamed of.

Growing up in Stone Brook with my aunt and uncles, I wanted nothing more than to find my place in this world. I longed to discover more about my missing past and make sense of my wild magic. Little did I know those answers would come with so many more questions.

My nightmares are now a reality as the forces against my men and I tear us apart. Heaven and Hell are colliding, the shadows are circling, and the enemy is closing in. But I’m no stranger to the dark.

Thankfully, I’m not alone this time. I will do everything in my power to keep those I love safe, and God help anyone who tries to take them from me.

Knight Unchained is the final book in the Black Veil University and has a HEA. This is a university-aged, Paranormal RH romance which means there will be no choosing between love interests at the end of the story.

This series has darker elements that readers should be aware of such as, strong language, PTSD from kidnapping, assault, and violence.

    Absolutely brilliant!

Fantastic series. Everything you could want with all the bonuses.
Fae’s with twists, shifters and gargoyles are just a few of what this incredible series offers.
Even the RH works so well, built up to so much more. A family, friends, a team, partners.

It’s one of the best series I’ve ever read.

    Stars given on level of engagement;

5 stars – less than a day to read because I cannot put it down. I only give 5 stars if it has managed to engage extra emotions from me – extreme lol moments or real teary moments etc. A 5 stars book tends to have me raging about cliff hangers and (legally and not creepily) stalking the author for release dates.

4 stars – 2 days to read or less. A book that I have quite enjoyed reading, feisty MC and some racy scenes with thier romantic interest. I would definitely follow a series and author for 4 star books.

3 stars – takes around 2/3 days to read, usually because I have become distracted and less engaged in some sections but by the end the end I have enjoyed the overall story and would read any sequels.

1/2 stars not given, as I have usually returned it without finishing as I’m not engaged. .

I really enjoyed this book: the storyline, the characters and their development.

I did not, however, appreciate how blatantly obvious it was that the author was “teasing” us with spinoff story lines. It got quite annoying and distracting.
If you have a best friend, it should be normal that you enquire about their relationships on even a baseline level. Instead Danica just leaves Kayla to her own obviously complicated situations without discussing it for MONTHS on end?

I can understand wanting to entice readers into a spinoff, however, it was just frustrating and it could’ve been done better, or at least answered a few questions rather than just posing 7000. For this reason, I won’t be reading the spinoff any time soon.

Overall I would say I have enjoyed this series however I feel the last three books were ruined by far too much smut.
This one particularly was ridiculous! I got to the point where I was so bored of the ‘heated’ scenes that I was skipping them and I would estimate they made up at least 40% of this book. It would be fine if this series was being advertised as that type of book, but it’s not and if it had been I would not have read it.
The two parts that irritated me most were when Dax had a head injury severe enough to have blood pouring from his nose and ears and could barely stand, and yet a smut shower scene was required??? Really??? How are we supposed to believe Dani loves him when she’s more worried about getting what she wants from him, than the fact he could be dying of a severe brain bleed???
Then Atlas, a man who is supposedly family and loved, is laid dying, and all the FMC and the guys can do is roll around as a group in bed??? It ruined the feel of the relationships and got really boring.
Then the ending just fell so flat for me! There was a lot of action in this book – so many life or death battles which kept me reading even though other aspects were putting me off, but then the end was just all so easy. No one was hurt and there was barely a battle. It left me feeling that if it was that easy, what was the rest of the series about?? Should have just ended it four books ago!
I’m not saying it was a bad series, because it wasn’t. The drama was great and I liked the characters, but if you’re writing a book with smut in every other chapter (or almost in every one, in this book) note it somewhere so people who don’t want to read that much ‘heat’ don’t get sucked in.
Or, hey! Here’s a radical idea – trust that you’re writing is enough and don’t fill your books with excessive smut to sell them. If there had been more plot and less smut this would have been a 5 star series for me.

This final book in this awesome series was just as enthralling as the previous books.

Plenty of action, trauma, love and romance. I love all the main characters, with their unique quirks and issues. I highly recommend this series.

This series had such a good storyline and the smut when it halted was good BUT I just think five books was too much ! I also think that that there was too many MF scenes and also not a lot of character relationship development it was just a bit lacking in some areas

Fantastic end to a series which got me out of my reading slump and transported me into a magical world full of drama and mystery and intrigue. Loved this series. Sad for it to have to an end but looking forward to future books
