I got my son to complete a comprehension every few days during the summer holidays just to keep his brain going a little. He’d just finished Y3 so was more of a refresher of the year. However they were challenging enough for him. Really good to practice completing comprehensions. I’d recommend timing your son/daughter too and either asking them to stop after 30 mins or using the timed approach to improve upon. Will be getting more of these to practice and reiterate what my son has learnt during school.

The KS2 english book was useful for my son in his studies for year 3. Helped him to understand comprehension better.

Good for practice, not the easiest texts so I will say it addresses the end of yr 3 kids (my opinion, I am not a teacher, just a mum). I will definitely recommend it as I can see improvement even if she still needs help with some of the questions . Thank you.

These comprehensions are fine though are slightly too simple at times. With the current curriculum requiring deeper understanding of the text than this book probes I primarily use this book as a catch up or simple independent activity for a child. The reason for this is that most questions are based upon recall rather than inference, author intent or any one of a number of other skills children need to use,
This is fine is unison with reading with an adult and discussing the content, but not as well rounded as I may have hoped from such a respected brand.
Having said that, for this price I can’t complain too much!
