I bought this book for my daughter to use during summer break , she is doing self study , this book is not that hard , it’s good to improve her confidence and also I like the lay out of the book . Revise and practice questions are good and also at the end of the there is a good section of work book that cover all the topics , it has 10 minute spag tests at the very end of this book , these are total six tests.
When I bought this book after couple of days I found same book is selling for cheaper price ,

Wow! There is so much I didn’t know about, for example, adverbs! But I know more about ‘adverbs of manner’ than most ex-footballers who sit next to the main commentators! When someone does something well on the pitch, these characters are wont to say something like, ‘He played fantastic!’ So, what do we have here? Hmm, a pronoun, verb and an adjective but no adverb. Aha! The very first example on the Adverb pages says that usually, just adding ‘ly’ to the adjective turns it into an adverb. So, there you go ex-footballers! And that’s adverbs … Whoa! What’s this – Adverbs of place? Adverbs of time? Adverbs of frequency? And we are only half-way down the first of two pages! There’s more to grammar than I realised! And there was me thinking that all you had to do was add ‘ly’ to adjectives, resist the temptation to place apostrophes in CDs and and learn the difference between colons and semi-colons.
This large-form book contains so much information presented in a rat-a-tat way that may suit those youngsters with a short attention span as well as those who can sit for longer.

This is a really good workbook that is ideal for both KS3 and revision for weaker KS4 students. I like that an ebook is also easily available as this means that parents and teachers alike can reprint tests from the book.
This is incredibly thorough, covering everything you need to know about SPAG including: word classes, sentence types, spelling patterns and all levels of punctuation. In my opinion, weaker GCSE students would benefit from this, particularly those that struggle with writing and spelling.
The book begins with recapping KS2 knowledge, thereby building confidence with the student. It then progresses through topics and I found the layout to be really helpful. You do not test yourself on the topic until several pages later, therefore truly gauging whether the knowledge has been processed and understood.
There is a fair amount of text on the pages and I think some students would benefit from chunking this down until smaller sections. There are plenty of headers and titles to allow for this. Terminology is clearly defined and I believe the explanations are clear. The tests allow students to then apply this understanding.
I am really pleased with this book and feel I will use it with both my KS3 and KS4 students. There’s enough here to challenge the brighter, younger students, whilst being a helpful revision guide for the older ones. Highly recommend.
