£1.00
A Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestseller.
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover comes a novel that explores life after tragedy and the enduring spirit of love.
When Leeds meets Layla, he’s convinced he’ll spend the rest of his life with her—until an unexpected attack leaves Layla fighting for her life. After weeks in the hospital, Layla recovers physically, but the emotional and mental scarring has altered the woman Leeds fell in love with. In order to put their relationship back on track, Leeds whisks Layla away to the bed-and-breakfast where they first met. Once they arrive, Layla’s behavior takes a bizarre turn. And that’s just one of many inexplicable occurrences.
Feeling distant from Layla, Leeds soon finds solace in Willow—another guest of the B&B with whom he forms a connection through their shared concerns. As his curiosity for Willow grows, his decision to help her find answers puts him in direct conflict with Layla’s well-being. Leeds soon realizes he has to make a choice because he can’t help both of them. But if he makes the wrong choice, it could be detrimental for all of them.

Picked this book as an audiobook for listening to in the car. Loved it. Not like the other colleen Hoover books I have read, but really enjoyed the change.

I bought this book on recommendation of the authors other work. At the beginning, I was intrigued at the concept, and the premise of a ghostly presence was exciting. But then it got a bit…..well….silly. I’m willing to suspend some disbelief, but Leeds and his reaction to the existence of Layla’s spirit was far fetched, and he was an utterly selfish and repulsive character for it. It’s ok for a holiday read, but don’t expect much.

At first I wasn’t sure what to make of this story. It was different and included the paranormal which I’m always unsure about but it worked. I did for awhile however find that I didn’t like the protagonist and his attitude but it all became apparent in the end. A good solid read with romance paranormal and a bit of mystery all rolled in to one.

I went through so many emotions reading this book: from becoming enamoured with the characters, to perplexingly terrified with their situation, becoming disquieted and anxious about the way things were going, all the way back to emboldened and optimistic.
Fantastic read that at one point I wasn’t sure I would get through, not because it was bad but actually how well it was written, and I’m so glad I did!

So many mixed feelings. Of course it’s paranormal so you have to suspend your disbelief for a bit, that’s fine. Certainly keeps you hooked, Love the ending. Overall quite enjoyed this book!
BUT
I still hate Leeds and his reactions to the situation are just not believable, no normal person would react that way. And the way the author portrays ‘you know who’ and their treatment is icky to me. Idk it’s so weird and wild so I guess nothing is a ‘normal’ reaction. The plot twist gives me scooby doo vibes iykyk.

I honestly think too many people are too much in their heads about this book. This is not a true story, its a completely crazy, made up story that rocked my world! From start to finish this book had me by the pony tail, I was on the edge of my bean bag the entire read and even though the story is messed up and the main character is completely selfish and abusive. At first I was really made at the main character but then I started to see things from their side and sort of slipped into their way of thinking and I kind of felt bad but then when I found out the plot twist I was like okay perfect I don’t feel so bad anymore. Anyway it was such a good read and if you are one of those sensitive people who can switch off and enjoy a story then I don’t recommend you read this one.

That is not where I expected this book to go ! I NEVER read blurbs, I go by recommendations or whatever falls into my lap, which this did . And again I feel totally blindsided ???? genre shock aside this read did leave me wanting to read on , it’s still a romance which is what I primarily read , but the paranormal aspect of this story left me baffled ( in a good way) more than once . Its a good entry way into the paranormal genre with the familiarity of stereotypical romance and Colleen comfort read .
But I guess that’s semi where it had its down fall to me , the ended felt like it should have been harder, less comforting , the resolution came a little too fast in the end but its an ending I was happy with . I’m a bit torn to be honest , but overall easy reading
