For the past decade, Lemn Sissay has composed a short poem as dawn breaks each morning. Life-affirming, witty and full of wonder, these poems chronicle his own battle with the dark and are fuelled by resilience and defiant joy. Let the Light Pour In is a collection of the best of these poems, and a book celebrating this morning practice.

I don’t know much about poetry, but I do know that these short verses brighten up my mornings. I love them and will be reading them for a long time.

Dirty cover unfortunately. It looks like ink so maybe a poor run of printing, wouldn’t have cost the much to reprint the book jacket.. the poems themselves are a bit repetitive. Perhaps best to read one a day?! Nice though.

A little tear in the dust jacket which given I was hoping to take for signing by the author it’s a little frustrating…. the secondary barcode has also left. Heavy sticky residue … as a gift I’d hoped it would be a little bit better in quality

Really beautiful little poems
by Charlie Townsend
Book was packaged loose in a large envelope that meant book was in constant movement within package resulting in unnecessary damage to cover. As this is a present of a first edition for someone else it rather needs to be pristine to keep it’s value. Disappointed.
Poems are fabulous mind you
