This was one of only a few BSL books I could find. I can honestly say it’s very easy to follow and learn the signs. Haven’t used with my baby yet as too young but lots of pictures and descriptions are great

Really great. All useful signs for you and baby/toddler/family to learn. We’ve found it really quick to pick up and the explanation/picture of how to do the sign are very easy to understand. My toddler is learning lots of different signs that make our life as a family a lot easier as she can communicate her needs without frustration. I would highly recommended this book as we used to learn signing at baby group but there was so much going on neither of us were able to pick much of it up, through this book we’ve learnt loads.

Our little boy is nearly two, has been slow to speak, which apparently is normal for children in a bilingual house. However he has taken to signing very well from 18 months or so, which has made life a lot easier for us. This book is excellent as a reference book, with lots of signs, and very good explanations of signing generally. I would also recommend My First Signs BSL, by Annie Kubler. This has less signs, but can be read by the child.

Like it very much. Helps me to understand what my grandson is trying to tell me.

Already own the Let’s Sign dictionary but bought this thinking it would be useful for teaching my baby to sign. Not sure what I expected, but the content is very similar. I thought the signs might be adapted for little hands (like sign for “mummy” is simpler than “mother”) or there might be advice for signing with little ones. TBF, both books are excellent but my advice is just to buy the dictionary as it’s more comprehensive.

Good book to learn BSL to teach early years children. Used with a BSL video app. Links with a sign dictionary and other books by the same author.

Great introductory book, illustrations are great and easy to follow. Bought it to learn myself and to teach my newborn when they arrive.

The book appears to be easy to follow and I look forward to starting to learn.
