Excellent content. A book I would advise all parents to buy prospective students. Print is very faint, makes it very difficult to read.

When I say I like it, I mean my daughter does. Heading to Uni next year and she thinks it is great. Not arguing with her, she might take me to court!

Letters to a Law Student is the perfect book for anyone who is thinking of studying law. I would say this is relevant to someone who is about to start uni (A Level or gap year students) but I’d also recommend this to anyone studying the GDL and those who are still studying their degree. I bought this in my second year of uni and I found that this was super useful. It talks about what uni you should apply to, the LNATs, university interviews, busting myths about studying law, coping with stress, how to study law, what citations mean in law reports, getting through books and articles, how to write a summary of a case, writing dissertations and much more. Everything you need to succeed as a law student is all in here. It’s the perfect introduction into law and hopefully will enable you to decide if law is for you. There’s not much prep reading you need to do when you start your law degree, but if you do want to read a good book in the summer before you start your law degree or GDL – this would be the perfect book.

I am already certain that this book will be referenced regularly as I get further into my studies.

Our daughter is at Queens in Belfast and we sent this for her. She’s loving it and said it’s giving her great insights.

Forget first year law, read this instead!
20 years after I studied law I stumbled upon this book. Still so much to learn from it.
Useful for students of any discipline.

This is the first book I’ve read in preparation for the start of my law degree; I know I’ll be referring back to it throughout my studies. Easy to read and interesting!
