We’ve been waiting a long time for these handbooks but I’m liking them very much. The covers have been well received by pupils, much better than those of the 2018 syllabus. They are glossy and colourful but still classy. This has a nice selection of pieces in it. The Solider’s March is going down well and the Flea is particularly attractive and fun for an A list piece. For the C list piece for this particular pupil we are using the anthology, which I would recommend getting as well. That way you have a huge selection of pieces to choose from and are bound to find something that suits.
I also love the way LCM include scales, sight reading and aural all within this book. Parents don’t want to be paying a fortune for many separate books with the result that for other exam boards I could mention I am constantly buying, lending out, and often losing these “extra” books. With LCM the pupil has access to all of it and I find they are therefore far more likely to cover these things in the week – and scales come back actually learnt!
Part of a series of grade books I’m very impressed with. The wait was annoying but has been worth it.
