Lords of Wrath (Dark College Bully Romance) : Royals of Forsyth University

£4.40

They hurt me, abuse me, use me…

I signed up for it. Literally. I agreed to the contract that made me the Lords’ Lady, a position that requires me to do whatever they want, but only as protection from someone worse. I agreed to be in their beds, on my knees, and punished should I disobey.

I just wasn’t expecting punishment like this.

Killian is two-hundred-and-twenty pounds of muscle, brutal physicality, and pure spite. He thinks I don’t know that he watches me when I sleep.

Tristian is fair-haired and charming to anyone who doesn’t know better. To me, he’s the man who seeks to control me, with his cold eyes and possessiveness.

Rath is the dark-eyed tempest who took me into his bed. Even having been subjected to his barbed tongue, he’s the first man to ever make me feel safe.

I hadn’t realized how much they’ve worn me down and made me feel complacent, but it turns out they’ve messed with my head just as much as they abused my body. Despite the awful things they’ve done to me, they actually made me feel special. Cared for. Protected.

And then I found out it was all a lie.

The way Tristian cares, Killian’s vigilant eyes, and worst of all, my contented moments in Rath’s bed, were all part of a game.

A game to see who can use me best.

A game they’ve been playing since day one.

And now?

It’s a game I’m going to win.

Ok… so this was darker than the first book in this trilogy. Still it was very enjoyable. I did find that the first half did seem a bit slower in pace, however it did start to pick up and definitely delivered.

So, after Story finding out what she did at the end of book 1. Here we find her planning her own revenge against the Lords. She’s sick and tired of them and all the torment they put her through. She’s read to start fighting back and that’s exactly what she does.

They say revenge is a dish best served cold and Story delivers that to her Lords. Although she’s not completely cold towards them and she does feel a bit of remorse for what she does. But like Story says, they don’t deserve her guilt.

Obviously, when the Lords found out of Story’s betrayal, they do not take it lightly. And the retaliation is something you couldn’t predict!

We somewhat find out who this mysterious TED is. Or rather who he was for a little while. We then figure out that TED is now a different someone else entirely and even more dangerous.

Even though, so far the Lords – Killian, Tristan & Rath – have been not the best of guys, We do see them develop. I think they’ve figured out that Story means more to them than just some possession and they want her to be with them, if she want to be with them; not because she is being forced to. In the end they give her a choice to leave which she takes…

Also, as mentioned a bit above story takes her revenge on the Lords, which ultimately I think also shows her character’s development. She’s always been a survivor, but at first she took what they threw at her in order to survive. And by the end, of this book, we see that she is the one making the rules and telling her Lords how things are going to look for the future.

    **SPOILERS**

I have never in my life flipped so hard and fast as I did for this book. For Dimitri. Literally one second I was saying I hate you and you deserve everything you get and the next he’s standing there in the pit and I was saying NO I LOVE HIM! IM SORRY!!! I am not a forgiving person and I can hold a grudge better and longer than most people I know so it was a huge shock for me to have this character just turn around and win my heart in one fell swoop. From rage to swooning in like 0.5 seconds. Now I’m finding myself apologising to him profusely inside my own head for all the nasty things I’ve said about him while I was reading even though he deserved every death threat I made.

This book made me feel rage, white hot, like I’ve never felt before. The characters have done things that are completely unforgivable. Yet I forgive them. I’m not sure how the authors managed that. I feel like maybe witchcraft was involved somewhere. But now I’m writing a review on my way home from work while listening to the playlist so that I can’t start the next book the second I get indoors.

The writing is brilliant and just like the last book, completely tore my heart out of my chest and ripped it to shreds but this time it fixed it up a little before handing it back to me, which I appreciate. Heartbreaking isn’t a strong enough word for the things that happen in this story and I suggest if you’re going to read it you have a reading buddy to lean on because you’re likely going to need moral support to make it out unscathed.

I am completely obsessed and this is one of those books that’s going to stick with me forever. It’s now a patch in the quilt that makes up my being and I couldn’t be happier about it.

OMG… book two of a four book series and it continues to thrill throughout. I bought on both Kindle and Audible – seriously recommned the listen, it’s beyond hot. Though I usually listen so I can do other things with my hands e.g. ironing etc, but this series needs your FULL attention at all times!

The second book has full on smex and the Pit scene … I have rarely so completely changed from hating to lovign a character so swiftly. Seriously edge of your seat edging, debasement, toying emotionally and physically and YET I find I am now so routing for them I am unsure if I have lost all my marbles. The step brother taboo adding an extra twist, and he is so overthetop for her, I actually feel sorry for the time they lost when it could have always been this damn good.

All the MCs – Killian, Tristian, and Rath – were distinct and had their own desires and plans, each having their own chapters alongside the FC Story, who has so much going on it her life its insane. Going to those three for PROTECTION, when they rip her apart (and us the readers/listeners) and slowly put her back together… I am in shock, but for all the right reasons. So glad the series is complete as I am swiftly onto book 3 right now!
