Losers: Part II

£3.10

Every action has consequences.

I made one foolish mistake and ended up with a debt I had only one way to pay…by bowing my head and submitting to the men I swore I hated. But in their dominance I found catharsis. In the darkness we share, parts of myself were brought to the light.

I’ve been wearing a mask for far too long.

Now I’m torn between the future I thought I wanted, and a life I once believed was only fantasy.

These feelings between us were never just a game.

What am I willing to sacrifice? My pride and carefully laid plans, my determination that I can do it all alone? Or my new-found freedom to live without boundaries with the men who turned my world on its head? How much am I willing to give up?

Who am I willing to lose?

Although not required, it is recommended to read the novella, The Dare, prior to reading Losers.

This book is part 2 of a duet. It is is First Person, Multi POV.

Losers is an 18+ polyamorous bisexual romance between one woman and four men, including MF, MM, and group scenes. Reader discretion is strongly advised, this is a dark read. I couldn’t find the words to write this review, so this is taking me a long time, the message behind the story about love and acceptance and family goes above and beyond. If you’re unadulterated, X-rated smut is next level, but please read the trigger warnings! If like myself, you understand that it’s a work of fiction and what occurs between the group is for entertainment value. You can see the love that builds between these characters through their adventure in love making. The build in relationships between Jessica, an author of the boys is beautiful, but the relationship between the four boys themselves and the family that they have created and welcome Jessica into is just absolutely stunning. Understanding that their family is gonna be frowned upon and won’t be accepted in modern society, but grabbing it and loving it regardless is just phenomenal. They face their battles together they hold their heads high, and they’re proud of who they are, and they’re proud of who they love.

This whole book series had me in a chokehold and that is not an overreaction! These books were just incredible, the spice the character development and the connections were just chefs kiss and I will never get over how good they are. This series is not without trigger warnings so please check those. The characters each have so much depth which I liked to read and so much background which just made you feel like you know the character even more. If you do chose to read this series please enjoy.

Obsessed with this ending!! Very cute and hot and when stuff started going down I was like ‘oh yes’ and it was so good!! There was a good mix between spice but also cute romantic moments between all 5 of the characters – for me it was the perfect balance

So glad I gave these books a chance – dark romance isn’t my usual cup of tea and I was a bit worried by all the content warnings that this series would be a bit much for me. However I really enjoyed the writing style and I think they massively helped with my enjoyment of it

    – poly / found family
    – multi pov

I liked book 2 more than book 1.
There was more plot in this than just intimate scenes which make book much better. Not as much as I would’ve liked though, I still think there was way too many intimate scenes ( never thought will say something like this)
At some point I started speed reading them as it’s just not that interesting when one intimate scenes takes 2 chapters and they take at least 70% of the book…
I don’t like how long it took Jess to stand up against her mother, I’am all for respect your parents no matter what they are, but there has to be line drawn at some point for how much they can control your life.
This book was great, it showed me all sides of BDSM, after reading this , I have good understanding of what I may like and what is big no, unfortunately for my taste things was taken too far in this book, especially when Jess asked to pee on her, not to judge anyone’s kink, but that’s just disgusting…
I didn’t paid much attention on what was going on after this scene as all I wanted was just to finish it faster unfortunately.

Those five deserve the world and I’m absolutely ecstatic for them. That being said, my ranking of the order I love them in didn’t change, which is good – it means that the characters were consistent and bloody well written!

The plot was well executed, especially with how the first book ended. I did hope we’d get a bit more closure on some of the minor plotlines like Kyle’s current whereabouts or what Jess’ former friends are up to and if they might not think Alex went a little overboard but I do love the way things went down. It managed to stay just shy of too much action and drama, while still keeping up with the tension set in book 1.

The ending was maybe a little too sweet, but it was what I wanted for those characters. I just wish we could have seen them in a bit more diverse situations. In book 1 we see them argue and work through their issues while coming together, but there didn’t seem to be anything to work through between them once they came together. Again, I love that for them, I just want to read more of the actively working through issues.

And the spice, oh the spice. I almost had to fan myself. It is an absolute honor to be part of Harley’s ARC team.

It took me a while to read this because I kept getting kinda bored and stopping. But I really like the characters so I decided to plod on and get it finished.

Overall, I liked this story and I would definitely recommend it. The spice delivered as I expected it to. Very kinky. Very dark. Lots of group activities.

I thought the conflict could have been exaggerated more. Reagan scared the hell out of me and I was kinda disappointed with how it went down with him.

I liked the HEA though! 3 stars

Losers Part 2 is the third book regarding Jess, Manson, Lucas, Vincent and Jason.

Whilst still heavy on smut and taboo there are a lot more feelings in this book and it deals with a lot of pent up feelings from their younger years – be that apologies for past behaviour, revenge acts from people who still hold a grudge and the exploration of their families both the good and the bad.

I loved seeing the character growth in this book and them really grow together and become a family. The acceptance of them from Vincent’s family and the efforts gone to win Jess’s family around really showed that they were serious about each other and it wasn’t just a game.

Whilst full of the feelings the spicy scenes were still on point exploring some taboo fantasies from pet play, to CNC and even water sports. It really was a great read.

My favourite quote in this book has to be: “Films with violence, torture and death were easy to find – but movies that portrayed anything close to realistic kink were practically unheard of. It didn’t make sense to me why consensual sex could be considered more taboo than murder. But maybe that was why I didn’t get along very well in ‘normal’ society”
