Make Your Own Pixel Art is an incredibly creative book beautifully designed to teach you how to create your own pixel art. Informative enough for both complete beginners and experts to further their skills! It now has a permanent place on my go-to design reference shelf!

Let’s be honest, no artbook will ever make you a master, but this one will get you a long way toward understanding and being able to create pixel art. It walks you through installing and using some of the more popular programmes used to create pixel art and gives a good background on techniques and tricks you can use.
It’s easy to understand and I found it entertaining too. I knew a bit about pixel art before and had tentatively tried and I found the book really helped me. I would recommend it for beginners and intermediates, but I think even people who really know what they are doing might get something out of it.

Thought it would be a helpful book on pixel art, but it was very disappointing, telling you things you can find out for free on youtube or elsewhere.

I’ve got a bit of a thing for pixel art and when I stumbled across this book, how could I resist?

For anybody interested in creating pixel art, this book is a must! It’s even brilliant for complete idiots like myself! It starts right at the beginning (installing pixel art software) and leads through:

    1. Pixel Art Tool Guide
    2. Shapes and Shading
    3. Colours and Palettes
    4. From Concept to Complete
    5. Get in the Game
    6. Animating Pixels
    7. Special Effects for Animation
    8. Where to Go from Here

As you can see from the content list, it’s an extremely comprehensive book. It literally covers everything you need to know to get started and grow your skills if you’re a beginner, or how to get more out of your skills if you’re an expert. Pixels, colours, animations, tips – it’s all covered in here and the book itself is a great size so it doesn’t take up tons of space. (See pics)

For ANYONE who is interested in creating Pixel art, you owe it to yourself to get this book. The price is fantastic for the amount of content in here!

    Superb!
