I purchased this book because I wanted an introduction to the method used in CBT and to ascertain how the model is applied to anxiety related issues. The book has offered just that! I have found it helpful and informative. The CBT application is easy to understand and then to begin to apply to getting anxiety related issues under control. As with the CBT model of work though it does require a person to have a clear understanding of CBT and want to begin a journey towards change….and, as the book shows, it is not a “quick fix” journey which will end when you have read the book…it is that point your work will begin. The charts and diagrams shown in the book will help you to put together your own diary/journal of your progress and the information provided gives you great reminders about the goals you have set yourself. I am very pleased with is purchase and would recommend it to anyone setting out to use CBT techniques to help with problematic issues in their lives. Good purchase.

Very easy to read. Chose an actual book for this rather than electronic version as it is so much easier to go back and reread certain passages. Having reached a point where anxiety was affecting health, on doctors advice, I have had a couple of sessions with a mindfulness hypnotherapist for deep relaxation. I think I needed face to face support initially but this book reinforces what I have learned and allows me to build on it. Going forward this is a great companion and as my therapist says you use the techniques to get over an anxiety attack, but with practice you can prevent them from happening in the first place. It takes work but so worth it.

The techniques in this book are not groundbreaking and are mostly common sense. Good for someone who maybe has lost their way and can’t make a start of getting out of a tight spot. But was hoping to find out about this technique that everyone has been talking about for so long and these strategies just seem very basic and barely helpful. Unfortunately, wasted money.

Having just started a course of CBT via the NHS for Generalised Anxiety Disorder, I find this book is extremely helpful in supporting what I am learning and this has become my ‘bible’ that I refer to. It is extremely easy to read, clearly written and easy to follow tasks. I recommend this to anyone.

A life changer. I love this book so much I’ve purchased it for a friend. I want to buy it for everyone who is struggling with anxiety, wants to understand anxiety and where it comes from or is ready to change and free themselves from it. This book will will empower you, hold you by the hand and guide you through your transformation.

Lovely book – not too big or heavy to read. You can either read it cover to cover or certain sections at a time. I used it along with CBT sessions and read a few pages ahead before my next session so I knew what to expect. Now I have finished my therapy and plan to read it cover to cover as an evaluation/conclusion.
