Manhattan State of Mind: An Opposites Attract Office Romance (Billionaires In Charge)

£2.80

I wake up in the hospital with no memory of the past year. The last thing I remember? JP Wolfe, my brooding billionaire boss, threatening to fire me in front of the entire tech team.

But now, as I return to work, fumbling with amnesia, something’s changed. Wolfe’s intense gaze lingers on me, making my heart race and my cheeks flush.

I’m just your average tech girl with a serious comic book addiction while he’s the infamously cold, ruthless co-founder of a hotel empire. And let’s not overlook that he’s the kind of smoldering hot that makes you forget your own name.

There’s no way a man like him could be harboring secret feelings for someone like me… is there?

As I scramble to rebuild my lost memories, I realize Wolfe is hiding secrets he doesn’t want me to uncover. What happened during my missing year? And why is Wolfe determined to stop me from finding out?

Manhattan State of Mind is a dual-point-of-view, standalone, romantic comedy with spice, banter, and a happily ever after.

I haven’t read Rosa’s books before but I am glad I did on this occasion. This book has a really nice story, Lucy is funny and her relationship with JP is not what I expected. Opposite’s obviously do attract and his love for her and the intensity when they were together makes this book one to not put down. Well worth a read.

An unusual storyline, Lucy having fallen downstairs in a hotel, unconscious after hitting her head. After a few days in hospital they find she has amnesia losing a year of her life. An interesting part of the story where people are told not to tell her things she has forgotten, to deal with it slowly or it would affect her health. She feels Wolfe her boss is hiding secrets he doesn’t want her to know. He is devastated that she doesn’t remember him and the time they had together, which she refused to tell anyone about. He organises various ways to see her, he misses their relationship that she can’t remember. She is seriously addicted to Comic Con and her dad used to take her every year. My daughter and granddaughter go every year to them and found it interesting how Lucy describes it and takes her friends to it. Some of this story brings up things regarding Comic Con. A lot of drama in this book and a shocking reveal regarding Wolfe. Very sad in parts when things come to light. So much angst but well worth the read would recommend.

Don’t get me wrong the story was good, but sometimes I felt like it dragged on for quite while. And at the beginning it wasn’t very clear what was going on. It is a dual pov.

What a refreshing story, so different from other billionaire romantic reads.
    Great characters, story and quirkiness.
Total must read now onto the next book.

“Listen,” I stammer, “this is going to sound crazy, but I’ve lost my memory. Did we… did something happen between us?”
Silence falls. A silence so fraught with tension I can barely breathe. I feel his eyes on me, seeing all of me while I see nothing. I feel exposed. Vulnerable.
“Something incredible happened between us,” he finally murmurs.

Holy moly guacamole. Hold onto your hats and your panties because at least one of those items of clothing will want to leap off your body when you read this book and meet billionaire JP Wolfe…

Manhattan State of Mind is a page-turning, snort-laugh inducing, hot-under-the-collar, rollercoaster of a ride that I simply couldn’t put down. I started reading it at the start of a plane ride and it’s been the best in-flight entertainment I’ve ever had. So good that my bladder’s screaming to get my attention and my stomach thinks I don’t love it anymore.

Lucy Walsh, IT superstar, has just woken up in hospital. Her last memories are of a cringeworthy encounter at work, when her hot boss, alpha billionaire JP Wolfe, discovers her with an unflattering caricature of him. However that didn’t happen yesterday, it happened a year ago, and now Lucy doesn’t remember anything that’s happened since then. She doesn’t know that a sex shop and brothel has replaced the cutesy bakery under her apartment. She’s no idea she now has a feral roommate called Spider. And she definitely isn’t aware that she’s spent the best part of the last year having a torrid affair with her boss and falling in love…

But JP can’t tell her about their relationship. Not only was it top secret, but it ended in the worst possible way, leaving Lucy utterly distraught. So, what’s a guy to do? Make her fall in love with you again and hope her memory doesn’t return until you’ve convinced her you’re a changed man.

Manhattan State of Mind is a brilliantly written book. It’s riotously funny, hotter than hell, and is nuanced and multi-layered. Both Lucy and JP have their own personal roads to walk, as well as navigating the path of their complex relationship and you’ll be gripped as you follow every second of their journey. Whether you’re after an intelligently written opposites attract workplace romance with a hot-boss billionaire, or a story you can’t leave your seat for—even to pee— then you need this book in your life!
