Marilyn Monroe: A Life From Beginning to End: 1 (Biographies of Actors)
£9.80
Marilyn Monroe
She vigorously played the dumb-blonde stereotype in her movie roles, but there is nothing at all dumb about Marilyn Monroe. Born to a single mother who suffered from severe mental illness, the odds were stacked against the girl originally named Norma Jeane from the very beginning. She became a ward of the state and bounced around from foster home to foster home. The fact that she rose from such impoverished beginnings to become one of the top-billed acts in Hollywood speaks for itself.

These Hourly History books are fantastic mines of information. I would thoroughly recommend this book as a quality snapshot of the life of Marilyn Monroe.
by Jack
A very interesting book well worth a read.
by Hugo
This biography was disappointingly short. More like a pamphlet than a book, it was for me a disappointing gift to pass on to my daughter.
It is vastly over-priced.

Very disappointed nearly a tenner for what is basically a pamphlet.
by Jeanne
The world over knows quite a bit about Marilyn Monroe but this condensed account was very well written, including both good and negative aspects of the fascinating legend.
by david
quite a basic biography
by Michelle
Give the girl the right shoes and she will conquer the world. Oh Marilyn Munroe, probably the most repeated quotes of all time are from this woman.
This is a really short summary of her life, at 46 pages it’s a real quick read focussing on her mother, her childhood, her marriages, the movies, the depression.
As a brief insight into this ironic woman it has certainly left me wanting more.
by L. Lewzey
Very disappointed- looks like a proper book, but is more like a leaflet or pamphlet – very thin.
