A SPECIAL-EDITION BOXSET CREATED TO CELEBRATE THE PULITZER-PRIZE WINNING GRAPHIC NOVEL’S 40TH ANNIVERSARY

‘The first masterpiece in comic book history’ The New Yorker

‘The most affecting and successful narrative ever done about the Holocaust’ Wall Street Journal

A brutally moving work of art — widely hailed as the greatest graphic novel ever written — MAUS recounts the chilling experiences of the author’s father during the Holocaust, with Jews drawn as wide-eyed mice and Nazis as menacing cats.

Maus is a haunting tale within a tale, weaving the author’s account of his tortured relationship with his aging father into an astonishing retelling of one of history’s most unspeakable tragedies. It is an unforgettable story of survival and a disarming look at the legacy of trauma.

This paperback box set includes MAUS in its original two-volume format, re-released with an exclusive sixteen-page booklet designed by the artist himself.

I had this book when it first came out but unfortunately at some point it got lost. Trawling through amazon I found that this edition had been made available. For those that think the bumper edition is too heavy, this is the solution you need, this is the book in the original two volumes and it is far easier to hold and read.
As far as the story goes, this has to be an essential companion if you are interested in the literature of the holocaust. A retelling using animals in place of humans but without removing any of the heartbreak, this graphic novel crafts a world in a way that many books on the holocaust simply cannon manage.
Buy this book, read it and appreciate that for those who survived, the holocaust can never be forgotten. For those from younger generations, the holocaust never should be forgotten.
