Absolutely amazing. Good quality of the books too, will last long time even when kids are bot careful. I really love the simple explanations. We did not try with baby yet, but I think it will be super helpfull for the whole family as grandparents dont speak the same language…so we probably use a lot.

We have about 4 or 5 of Anthony Lewis’ baby sign books and I refer to them all. This one has all the most important signs connected with food and eating and like the others contains clear but fun colourful pictures to accompany the words.
The only word I couldn’t find in this one is croisant. My two year old is a slow learner and he has only started to sign in the last few months, but he loves to sign biscuit and drink and MORE! And we have great fun showing daddy all the signs we know.
I expect I will reffer to all the sign books for at least another year, maybe even longer.

My parents are deaf and me and my family speak to them using sign language. I wanted a way to be able to teach my son sign language for him to be able to speak to my parents. I brought 2 other books like this one and they are great! Bright and colourful and he loves the pictures, I’m not expecting him to understand much right now but I know from experience that learning young and getting use to seeing the signs are best. This books are great highly recommend

I brought this to go with my first signs which is in BSL. I had decided to stick to british signing as I felt it would make more sense in the long run and was disappointed to find it says quite clearly on the back that they are american signs. Otherwise a nice Big board book and fine for peole just using signs with babys for a short time pre language development and not doing any classes based in BSL.

These books are far more reasonably priced than official Makaton study aids. My daughter receives assistance from a NHS Speech and Language Therapist and she too recommends these books (alongside others).
My daughter was 1 1/2 years old when we first purchased and she just enjoyed looking at the pictures, now at 3 years old she signs to some of the pictures. As an adult I learnt most of my signs this way whilst waiting to attend a Makaton training class

Simple and fantastic product, great quality, ideal book size to carry around, perfect to hold for parents while showing to baby. We could not do without this unique support. We are using it with our baby to communicate by sign. Baby signing back to us his need by 10 months. We also got the other one. Great series.

Like all the BSL sign about books, Meal Time has lovely clear illustrations, and just the right amount on each page so it’s not too overwhelming. My son (2) loves reading these books with us, and as we learn the signs it’s helping his vocabulary. He’s picking up signs and words together, so if we don’t understand what he’s trying to say, he can use the sign instead, or point to the picture in the books.
