    The book has a great presentation, and some great two-page graphics on building a taco bowl to Empanada fillings. Really great vegetarian/vegan book, with a bunch of great recipes. Highly recommend!

    I enjoyed reading through this book. I found it really informative.

    There are lots of meals that have notes on how to adapt from vegetarian to vegan, but off you are used to vegan cooking you could pretty much adapt any dish in this book to vegan on your own. I have found lots of websites that stock the ingredients mentioned and am really excited to start cooking my way through the book.

    I was a bit daunted at first reading through the ingredient recommendation chapter at the beginning as I couldn’t find all the different chillis etc, but Thomasina makes substitution recommendations and actually these work great. Once I’ve read through a recipe once or twice they have all been pretty easy to make. I’ve also found that mixing and matching the sides and salsas that weren’t necessarily the recommended ones have worked brilliantly too. The best recipe book I’ve had in years (and a refreshing change from peering at my phone while cooking!!)

    These are nice Mexican recipes.. The pineapple tarte tatin was gorgeous. Looking forward to making the chile non carne – only try to find it in the index! Not under its name or the main ingredients.
    Pineapple salad has a hot dressing that apparently makes it delicious. Important ingredient scotch bonnet salsa. 2 spoons. Cannot find a recipe for it in the index, or indeed the book. No hint whether you can buy it.
    These are frustrating. Otherwise quite good.

    You know when you buy cook books and you cannot find the ingredients or the author doesn’t tell you what to substitute or there is a million ingredients and it’s daunting – well that’s not this cook book – it’s great!
    I lived in an Hispanic area of Chicago and miss going to authentic small family run restaurants. Well now I am going to start. Sometimes in cook books you like maybe 60% of the receipts. I recon I could try everything! So pleased and going to work my way through the book and also gift.
    Thomasina also writes down to earth and real and it’s also a nice looking book not that really matter. Just so happy with the easy, no complicated recipes – thank you.
    I haven’t been to one of the restaurant so that’s on the list now – off to Cardiff lol

    The soy, ginger and lime cauliflower tacos were delicious! Already dreaming about making them again. The only ‘issue’ I’ve found is that a lot of the dressings, salsas etc require a lot of different ingredients, which can work out quite expensive for an everyday meal – but I just substituted with what I already had in the cupboard. Over all, loving this cookbook so far. Would 100% recomend to fellow veggies.
