Bought as a Christmas present for my son’s girlfriend who’s studying to be a Dr, this will be a good studying tool.

I bought this thinking it would be a book of crosswords, hopefully with cryptic clues, but what a disappointment. The “crosswords” are simple grids with a few questions on medical knowledge and with few interlocking letters. Therefore you either know the answer or you don’t! You cannot deduce the answer from the other clues in the simple grid. If you want a list of medical questions then maybe this might suit you. If you want a book of crosswords or a deeper set of medical questions then I suggest you look elsewhere.

Bought this for my GP wife as a stocking filler. She was confident it wouldn’t be a problem so took straight to it. She’s a very good doctor and has always had an impressive medical general knowledge, but she still found it a challenge at times.
Definitely a book for doctors and not just students or those interested in medicine.

I think this book came well presented and is light, meaning it is easy to take around with me. The structure has clear headings with the level of knowledge marked as easy, or hard. I’m doing a nursing degree and this really helps with challenging my knowledge and learning new things. Would recommend to anyone!

Too esey for a doctor but just good fun

I bought this for my 16 year old who is considering medicine as a career. I am a nurse and can answer the easier crosswords without reference to books, though there are several higher levels still to tackle. I thought this book would give her the chance to explore studying various areas of medicine, and find out whether it truly interests her, before choosing A Levels. Only downside is that the pages are printed on low quality paper, so may rip, or ink may soak through. At this price I would have expected better quality However, the content appears well researched and comprehensive.
