I bought this book to help with my second year revision in Biomedical Sciences, I think this book would have been more useful in my 1st year, but I’m still using it a great deal!
This whole series is very well written and I always buy these books. Great.

Excellent textbook for an introduction to medical genetics. Served as a good refresher of the materials covered during my BSc prior to moving on to further study. Goes from the basic principles of Mendelian inheritance to advanced case studies.

Medical genetics at a glance is a useful book for a medical student in their early part of their undergraduate studies or with a particular interest in genetics. Although it states that it is at a glance, having received this title during my final year of medical school to review, I feel that the level of detail that this title offers is in many places beyond what most medical students would be expected to know.

Personally I would place this more as a textbook for use early on when you need to get to grips with medical genetics to give you a good underlying knowledge to prepare for future years. Once however you are into your clinical studies, much of this title will provide you with a level of detail beyond what you would be expected to know for exams.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a title that will provide you with a comprehensive overview of genetics then this is your book, if you are looking for one that will link to clinical then I would suggest looking for a different title or maybe using this as a reference title by getting it from your university library.
