Jaida James, a high school senior, barely scrapes by in her history class. It’s not that she harbors any dislike for the subject; it’s just that the stories of the past don’t captivate her interest. After all, she’s more focused on writing her own tale.

Currently, Jaida is consumed by the pursuit of launching her own business—a task that has proven to be more challenging than she’d initially anticipated. Adding fuel to her frustration, her best friend Halley has a thriving business and leverages her existing wealth to outdo Jaida. To Jaida, this appears to be a clear case of the rich getting richer—an unfair game.

However, Halley sees things differently. She tells Jaida, without mincing words, that the business world is no place for the thin-skinned. If Jaida wants to join the ranks of successful entrepreneurs, she must toughen up and brace herself for the intense competition ahead.
