This is the easy way to get yourself into cooking Indian food… simple, clear to understand and doesn’t involve a whole shopping list of random ingriedients. I have given this to multiple friends and family who all love it.

Similar to Nisha my father arrived by boat from Colombo in 1947 to study Medicine at Edinburgh university then married my English mother. Twin boys we were subject to racial abuse but it made us stronger and we both succeeded as doctor and commercial pilot. I love this book as I have cooked Sri Lankan and Indian food all my life remembering the food my father would prepare after surgery. It’s different enough to make it well worth the cooking. Not too much chilli to blow your head off but delicate flavours to really enjoy. Well worth buying especially on Amazon. We tried the Brighton restaurant for lunch and especially pleased to see they allowed well behaved dogs.

After several enjoyable meals at Mowgli’s I decided to purchase the book , recipes are easy to follow , ingredients are available in the supermarket so no special trips or searching for ingredients. Now we can cook our favourite dishes at home , recipes are easy to follow , fantastic when cooked . All the family have their favourites, I’d highly recommend the bunny chow, tamarind fries and the angry bird recipes ,
