I’m not usually a Stephen King can, too much horror for me, but this was a great page Turner and kept me hooked

I’m well over half way. King has a way of continuing the story with some short distractions which makes you think. How it ends I don’t know but it will and I will have enjoyed the journey I know.

I haven’t read a Stephen King book for many years, but the synopsis piqued my curiosity and this story was a fresh start for me. His previous novels, sometimes dwelled on novelist themes, which I found boring and one of the reasons I drifted away. Mr Mercedes scared the bejesus out of me. Not like in a supernatural way, more like ‘oh my goodness, he isn’t going to do that!’ I couldn’t put the bloody Kindle down. Loved it. Mr Mercedes has changed my opinion and I can’t wait to start another like this. Well deserved praise Mr King.

The abject horror of premeditated evil, King crafts a killer with chilling psychosis. His nemesis is equally matched in terms of acumen and humanity. Add in two of the most unlikely sidekicks and you have an unstoppable and original Scooby Squad. I was gripped from chapter one.

I purchased this in hardback years ago and read most of it then but due to a number of health issues never finished it, I have difficulty holding books hardbacks and paperbacks due to arthritis in my hands, so I took the opportunity when it came up and put it on my kindle, and I’m now going to complete the trilogy

Increasing interest throughout the book

The story itself was brilliant and as soon as I finished reading it I ordered Finders Keepers so cannot wait to read that now.
Unfortunately the copy I received from Amazon had half the pages stuck together so I had to carefully rip them open which was annoying!
