Average guide at premium price. It’s 2023, I don’t think colour photos in a guide book is much to ask. Very text heavy with a few poor quality black and white photos. Would not recommend.

Having been to Japan before but wanting to explore it in more depth I wanted to find a guidebook that would give me a variety of ideas from the ‘must-see’ to the things that tourists often miss. The author who has lived and travelled extensively in Japan offers some really interesting insider-tips that I am looking forward to checking out next time I visit this beautiful, fascinating country. I will be sure to use this guidebook when planning my next excursion over there and blend my usual routine of freequenting karaoke bars(!) and onsen with these excellent tips.

It arrives on time, but then its a black and white edition! Read inside shows colour pictures in the book! How odd!

I’ve been dreaming about a holiday in Japan for a few years now and this book helped me sum up the most important places to visit and gave me some great tips and things to think about. Easy to read.

This is not a ‘complete guide’ in my eyes, I think it’s more a starting point that you build off of. If you’re starting your research it has some good tips and websites to visit. If you plan on scouring the web I wouldn’t say you need this book. This was easy to follow but not a very in-depth guide. I imagine it’s great for those starting out their planning journey.
