This book is beautiful. As a Foster carer we need to prepare babies and children for thier forever family, that is not always a traditional setting. Some have 2 mummies some 2 daddies some just one parent. The author talks about this in the book in a child friendly way. I cried when I read the book and came to the adoption story photo album, this is where our journey finishes and thier new life begins. Very emotional. A must for every Foster home. A must for all parents to discuss diversity with thier children.

I bought this book as two of my grandchildren have same sex parents. It is a very helpful book.

I preordered this book some time ago after the authors posted about it on our local Facebook community page (I assume they’re based nearby). Well, I’m so glad I did because it is easily my two year old daughter’s favourite book – and she has hundreds! The story has a lovely rhythm and my daughter enjoys pointing out and naming different aspects of the illustrations. As well as normalising same sex parenting, this book has also helped with naming emotions, as my daughter often comments on the page where the little girl is sad and the Daddies give her a hug.

I hope to see more from these authors in the future 🙂

This is an absolutely heart-warming and wonderful book. I just love that the story is not “Oh, look, I have two dads” (which should not be, let’s face it, a story) rather it is about all the great things a girl and her two daddies do together. There is a nicely nuanced adoption piece which should help any curious, “but how do you have two daddies” type questions. These dads are not perfect, but they are kind, loving, creative and they make their daughter feel safe. It is just gorgeous!

The illustrations are bright and colourful and the rhymes are fun rather than twee.

This book would work extremely well in any family home or in any EYFS classroom (especially during any unit about families).

This book is wonderful. It has a fantastic rhythm to it that keeps both me and my 4 year old engaged. The illustrations are bright, inviting and give us lots to talk about as we go through the pages. My son has picked it off the shelf a number of times for bedtime stories and tells us how much he loves it.

It’s a very simple message, love is love and that’s what matters. The only way to ensure that our kids see the world in equal terms is to start them off in life by knowing all relationships are equal. There is no ‘normal.’ This book helps to anchor that mindset beautifully.

My toddler loves this book. We had to read it three times in the first sitting, and it’s now become a favourite of his. I can’t overstate how important it is for kids to see their own families reflected in their books – regardless of if that is a mum and a dad, two same-sex parents, a single parent, or if they are being raised by grandparents – and this does that job beautifully.

Hubby and I particularly appreciated the adoption story spread, as we know when he gets older it’ll be good for our wee fella to see his not just his family but his own life story book reflected. I’m not embarrassed to admit this gave me a wee lump-in-the-throat when I saw how he reacted.
