I have been wanting to teach my daughter sign language ever since she was born, but I could only find books that were in American sign language.
I am so please I found this book! Unfortunately it is a little late, since my little girl is 13 months old already and I have tought her some signs that I managed to find on google and youtube or even made up myself, but I am so please I can now teach her even more signs! She just hit the age where she is interested in animals, so this is fantastic! The pictures are mostly clear on what the sign should look like, but there is a short descibtion next to the image, too. The bright colours and fun designs are appealing to my little girl. I am going to get second copies of these books (My first signs and my first animal signs) to give to our child minder who has never looked after a child who uses sign language.
This book and the others on its range are excellent value for money!

So nice to figure out the signs together but should really be a sign per page rather than like 20. The pages are too busy and the animations a little small so harder to focus on and copy. The book is too large for her to handle alone.

This is easily my LO’s favorite BSL book. She pulls it out almost everyday so we can go over the signs.
Clear instructions coupled with beautiful illustrations has made this a truly enjoyable (almost daily) activity for us both!

Bought for my 2yr old. She loves this book. We sit down and sign the animal and then on our walks we sign the animal we spot.

Me and my 1 year old absolutely love it. Simple explanations, lovely inclusive illustrations. Amazing how quickly we pick up the signs with this book.

Absolutely amazing. Good quality of the books too, will last long time even when kids are bot careful. I really love the simple explanations. We did not try with baby yet, but I think it will be super helpfull for the whole family as grandparents dont speak the same language…so we probably use a lot.
