Nadiya traveling Blighty to places which produce really good food. Was it her idea? I know she became famous for making cakes but I don’t like sweet things so that this didn’t interest me. But in the television series she travelled to lovely country places – asparagus, potatoes and unfortunatly for her crabs in the sea. Well she won’t do that again will she. Her father is a chef and taught her cheffing as a child, also recipies from Bangladesh. Now you are talking. She has combined all her talents into making fusion food. I first discoverd food from the Indian subContinent when I was 18 and went to Battersea where many of the students were Indian, Pakistani, Bangldeshi bringing their wonderful food with them. English food is ludicrously tasteless and boring and here is lovely Nadia bringing FLAVOUR to things we eat here. Paprika in pastry – of course why not, or garam marsala – she has opened up fusion food so we can put flavour into British food and enjoy it. Also now that her food is so popular we can buy the spices needed for traditional recipies from the Indian subContinent from traditional purveyors of English only food Sainsburys. Carry on Nadiya you really are a bright bright star!

I saw a tv programme where Nadiya cooked something really delicious, so I thought I would buy the book. Well, I was not so impressed. So many recipes seem to be made of pretty unappetising ingredients – tins of this, that and the other. Not real cooking in my opinion.

Too, too many pictures of Nadia. I haven’t tried the recipes yet but they look good.

Everybody loves Nadiya, of course, and I’d buy a photo of her smile just to cheer myself up. More than that, though – I’ve tried several of the recipes including the ‘daring’ ones like making the base for a chocolate tart from crushed potato crisps – I beg to report that it’s brilliant!!!! Double-plus brilliant – Him Indoors, who fancies himself gluten-free and could live on chocolate, woofed the lot in a very short time indeed. That’s one great recipe. I also tried the orange cake made with polenta and ground almonds; it’s infused with rosemary and thyme (cue for a song) and it’s lovely. Tried a few others also, but I thought I’d write about these two because they might seem unusual.
Nadiya captivated me on BakeOff, of course, and she showed great inventiveness, so I’m inclined to believe that she invented these recipes herself, and if you read your reviews, Mrs H, please have a hug

I bought this as a gift for my partner and both of us couldn’t be more pleased. There’s not one receipe you wpuldn’t want to make. It’s beautifully illustrated, I hate not knowing what a dish should look like so not disappointed. Looking forward to working our way through all the wonderfull dishes. What an inspiration Nadiya and her receipes are.

I cannot praise this book enough. I never watched GBBO but I bought Nadiya’s first book just a few weeks ago as I think I saw a recipe of hers somewhere. I’ve been cooking her recipes almost every day since and this second book is just as good as the first and the two have been been very well used in the short time I have had them.
Easy to follow and unpretentious, with some inspiring meals and treats, it’s a breath of fresh air. Everything I have made so far has turned out great, and have been enjoyed by everyone in our household.
When is the next book out Nadiya?

I bought this cookbook after trying some ginger and cheese straws at a buffet and discovering they were made from one of Nadiya Hussain’s recipes. I’m not much of a cook and it’s probably a bit extravagant to buy the whole book just for that one recipe – but those ginger and cheese straws were THAT good! Now that I’ve bought it, I’ve discovered what a lovely book it is and that there are some really super recipes that are simple and delicious. I’ve loved Nadiya since Bake Off, and her cooking is just like her – unpretentious, straightforward, a little different, fun and absolutely delicious. It’s a really good size for propping up on the worktop – not to big, but clear enough to read and understand. Nice clear instructions too, which is just the job for me, as I’m really not a cook. As another reviewer points out, not all the recipes are illustrated with a photo, hence the 4 stars, but other than that I would highly recommend this book – even if you only make the straws, because they are AWESOME and well worth the cost on their own.
