It’s slightly unfair for me to review this book given my son is four and the target range is five to seven. However, both he and I have found the book useful and entertaining. With the colourful pages breaking up the 10 minute a day tasks its meant that he feels as though he is achieving something by getting through the book. He has also asked me if he can do more than just the 2 pages which shows he must be enjoying it. The stickers certainly help, too!
Why four stars but not five? only because I think these educational books can only be judged on outcomes, i.e. did they actually help out the student…as we’re not at that stage yet, I can’t make that judgement call.

These are a superb and highly supportive set of educational books that will help your child practise and develop their numeracy, phonic grammar and spelling abilities. There are a number of different books within this series but the one I am reviewing here today is the ‘10 minutes a day spelling’ book. The books are all bright, colourful and well laid out from start to finish and are designed to be worked through in stages, ideally a page or two a day to help keep your child’s young mind sharp. The instructions for each activity are simple to read and follow with examples at the top of each section that your child can easily understand. A pack of 100 stickers are also included so when they finish each page they get to apply a sticker to the bottom as a reward. Should your child struggle at all there are answer pages at the back of the book to review and check their answers against. Additionally there are also some fun stickers which your child can add to a puzzle page located in the middle of the book. When the full book is complete, so is the puzzle page.
I really cannot find anything to fault or dislike about this book at all and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this series to anyone and everyone. For just under £5 a book (at time of review) this range of books are an absolute bargain and will really help your child’s development. For me, it’s a complete no-brainier and I would strongly urge you to grab a few different books. Simply brilliant!

I’ve got 4 of these books for my 5 year old to keep things fresh in his mind over the school holidays and keep him entertained. We rotate around the books 4 days a week doing 2 pages a day. The age range and difficulties of the puzzle do vary as you go through the book, but he’s been fine with the ones at the beginning of each so far. He really likes picking A sticker for each page after he’s completed them too. Depending on the age range you get these for they will probably want some adult help in reading the instructions and helping with some examples, but after that my kiddo has been happy to finish each page alone and then have it “marked”

I have a very reluctant learner so these books are great. Engaging pages and just enough questions to hold her attention. She loves putting a sticker at the bottom when she’s done too.

The book itself is obviously bright and colourful. It’s quite well printed and the covers are well protected against tears and spills.
The inner, work pages are thinner paper stock because this is a work book designed to be written on by your child. Would suggest working in pencil so mistakes can be rectified.
The book is linked to the national curriculum so this can be used to help keep up with their peers or give them a head start if they are keen to try it.
The inclusion of the answers of obviously a confidence booster for kids working through these books.
With the advent of the modern age where keyboards and spellcheckers are everywhere some basic spelling skills will serve a child well in later life and helps them make sense of the printed word, meaning they might be more likely to read for pleasure.

A got this book to go along side my daughters online learning. She loves that it is colourful and inviting. Also the reward stars are a great hit.

I’ve got a few books from this series and publisher and they have all been excellent with a great variety of activities which have kept the kids engaged. The stickers also help as a motivator which is a nice touch for more serious educational material.

Fab book for keeping kids practising for a short amount each day without getting bored. The sticker reward still holds a little bit of swap still at this age too, especially if you say that they’re getting a special treat for a full week of stickers or whatever.
We really like the books from this series, we have a few of them and they are all super clear and easy for the kids to use at home. The age guidelines seem to be pretty appropriate but you could always buy the age range up if you’re wanting to really challenge or stretch your kids.
These 10 minutes a day book have been especially useful to use over the summer to keep their skills up when they otherwise seem to forget everything over the holidays!
Our daughter also used the study and question books in school in her last primary school, which makes these extra books even more ideal to use at home to compliment what they’re learning at school.
