I highly recommend this iconic title in a graphic novel version! ????
Very good item for a present

I’m stunned by the quality and attractiveness of the recent graphic novels. Our 11-year old daughter is a fervent reader and is now in to graphic novels that she likes to collect – she has gathered a small, very nice looking collection by now. So I bought this 1984 book for her as these graphic novels are perfect, though expensive, gifts for birthdays and / or Christmas.
Now, in my search for more titles I stumbled upon this adaptation of 1984 and thought that as a great and influential work of literature our daughter might appreciate it, as was the case with the equally momentous Animal Farm graphic novel, illustrated by Odyr with far less text and with aquarelle-type of illustrations.
It has been decades since I read 1984 but the graphic version of this timeless masterpiece seems accurate and a good representation of the original work. The hard cover book is beautifully presented, with amazing art in gloomy colours printed on high quality paper. The grim dystopian world is quite gripping and the characters are very well represented. Without going into much detail about the dark story – it’s about a secret love-affair in a totalitarian regime – it’s just a great read and still brilliant reflection even on elements of the current society, which in itself is a spectacular feat given that the original story was published 70 years ago!
Very glad we got this book, and grateful my daughter let me read it as well.
There are not that many suitable and good quality graphic novels available, but this is certainly not one to miss.
Btw I would highly recommend the stunning Anne Frank graphic novel by David Polonsky.

My 14 year old grandson was so thrilled with this when he opened it. Very gratifying! It is a beautifully produced graphic novel and the subject matter was of great interest to him. Sturdy, robust hardback that will last a lifetime.

Very nice quality, big, heavy, hardcover, quality paper and pictures, colours. This book is much needed in 2021 to reflect on the current situation. Very happy customer.
