The first worry? How to get a teen to read this! A lot of parents may want to pre-read to swot up on the strategies the book provides, to get a head-start and be able to talk about this with their kids (and check they’ve actually read it!).

Morgan does this kind of thing very well. Makes her books chatty enough to appeal and be easy to read for her audience. And splits it down so the reader knows what to expect.

Here she explains that the book will look at anxiety and the reader (with a quiz – who can resist a quiz?!) to determine how much anxiety features in their life. Secondly, anxiety itself it broken down so it can be understood. And lastly, strategies to consider to help.

On first glance, I thought the text might be a little dense but actually the constant changes into charts, strategy pages etc meant it’s easy to quickly move through.

A very important topic for parents, children and teachers. Adults may find they use the book more than adolescents for the strategies and tips, but it’s a good reference guide for young people who may not have many outlets for emotions and feel the structure and reassurance here gives them direction.

    For ages 11 and above.
