£3.80£8.50 (-55%)

From the internationally bestselling author of Netflix’s hottest new show, One of Us is Lying, comes a new, page-turning thriller . . .

True crime can leave a false trail.

Four years ago, Brynn left Saint Ambrose School following the shocking murder of her favourite teacher. The case was never solved, but she’s sure that the three kids who found Mr. Larkin’s body know more than they’re telling, especially her ex-best friend Tripp Talbot. He’s definitely hiding something.

When Brynn gets an internship working on a popular true-crime show, she decides to investigate what really happened that day in the woods. But the further she dives into the past, the more secrets she finds.

Four years ago someone got away with murder. Now it’s time to uncover the truth . . .

‘Given that her high-school-based murder mysteries read like bingeworthy Netflix dramas, it’s easy to see why queen of teen crime Karen McManus is a bestseller on both sides of the Atlantic’ – Observer

This was an enjoyable school-set murder mystery. As an adult reader, I still thought the plot was quite engaging, and the female characters in young adult novels can often be really irritating, but I quite liked Brynn in this one. I definitely would have loved this book when I was about 15-16 myself, since it reads like an adult novel, just with teenage characters.

It was pretty good, an unexpected plot twist in the story.

Nothing More To Tell by Karen M. McManus

This is another showstopper by the brilliant Queen of Teen Crime! About a girl who, when she thirteen, found out her teacher at school was found dead and three of her classmates, one of them being her then-best friend, were found at the scene so she comes back four years later to investigate what happened.

Brilliant book with multiple twists and turners – a usual for Karen’s books. Only gripe is that the ending is left ambiguous rather than you finding out what truly happened.

    Would recommend. Brilliant!

I love Karen McManus and have worked my way through all of her books, and so far I’ve loved all of them, of course One of Us is Lying being my best read!

Nothing more to tell again doesn’t disappoint. It follows Karen’s usual style of writing, with the story told from the perspective of Brynn, a student journalist who begins investigating her teachers murder for years previously, and Tripp, Brynn’s best friend and who also found the teachers body. We follow the murder mystery and it becomes apparent all is not as it seems shall we say!

I found this another great read and thoroughly enjoyed the book! My only small gripe would be the fact we don’t actually find out for definite who killed Mr Larkin, it is only implied and the ending is vague. I’m someone who likes a book to tie up the loose ends and have a definitive ending.

Can’t wait for Karen’s next book!

I just LOVE how many twists and turns a Karen McManus book takes! And I love how I never have any idea how the book is going to end…I always have some kind of suspicion but it never ends up being correct ???? she is just TOO good!

Nothing More To Tell alternates between the viewpoints of Brynn and Tripp. Both were students of Mr Larkin at the time of his death four years ago, and Tripp was one of the three students who found his body in the woods. After a short stint at another school in the interim, Brynn is now back at Saint Ambrose, and is interning at a true crime media company so her interest in solving the truth about Mr Larkin’s murder has been piqued.

Brynn starts digging into the past and this has a big impact on multiple people, but a very big impact on Tripp, her former friend. Former due to the fact that the day before Mr Larkin’s murder, Tripp publicly embarrassed her in front of their peers and that was the end of their friendship. As they end up having to work together to try and solve the murder, they also end up having to re establish their severed relationship.

As I said, there were sooooo many twists and turns. I love how high school students are better investigators than the police ???? a lot more unlikeable characters in this book than in some of her previous books, but this only made it even harder to predict who the true killer was, which I love! There is nothing worse than a mystery book where you know exactly how it will end – you never get that with Karen’s books! 4 stars as I didn’t love it as much as Two Can Keep A Secret or One Of Us Is Next, but still a great read!
