Great layout and an ideal revision book.

I can’t say I like this at all. If you are teaching this topic, you will need to supplement a lot with your own material. You will also need to be prepared to explain to your students why there are variable spellings of certain things used throughout the book. I have bought it and will continue to buy it for my pupils, but that’s only because there is no alternative around. OCR has changed the syllabus completely and this is the only textbook that attempts to cover it, so it gets three stars for that but loses two for just not being good enough.

Excellent product and service

Excellent text book for the new prescription. Unclear intially that the second portion of it is repeated for each pathway text book but once relised not a disaster. Good quality and appears to be excellent value for money.

Delighted to finally have a decent core text book to teach Civ with, particularly as I’ve been teaching the course a year ahead of supposed “first teaching”. Very pleased with the side bar ideas for stretch and challenge, activities and key information. As it was produced very quickly for first teaching, there are several typos and missing page numbers etc, which will hopefully be ironed out for second printing.
Bit of a shame that some of the practise questions have been taken from the specimen paper which many teachers will have been hoping to use as a mock exam while there are no legacy papers.
