Not sure why theres so many negative reviews. I enjoyed watching the series and the cookbook gave me some great ideas for meals. It didn’t feel generic to me like some other reviews say. At the beginning of the book is some useful information and the recipes are simple to follow. Some cooking times have to be adjusted to suit your cooker, my favourite was actually the vegetarian lasagna and even though i used the wrong lentils it still came out very tasty.

This is amazing for people who are experienced or people who are completely new to cooking. James may wrote this book in his own words with jokes in the recipes that make this book very enjoyable to read. The food is delicous and not too hard to make with good instructions on how to do the recipe. Definitely would recommend!

Excellent recipes, and mostly excellent instructions. Some of the measurments for ingredients are different to those in the shows, and some things aren’t mentioned until needed (flour for making roux).
Otherwise really good book, and written in a lovely understandable way, not like the pompous up-their-own-arse TV chefs we usually get.
