Praise for Grace’s Books:
“The chemistry between the characters is absolutely explosive…This was an incredibly steamy, emotional, and all-consuming read that I could read again and again.” -Candace, Goodreads
“This writer to me is in the leagues of Johanna Lindsey, Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn and Amanda Quick.” -Kathie, Amazon
“Callaway is a talented writer and as skilled at creating a vivid sense of the Regency period as she is at writing some of the best, most sensual love scenes I’ve read in a long while.” -Night Owl Reviews
“Grace Callaway is becoming one of my all-time favorite authors. The Kent’s remind me so much of the Mallory-Anderson saga from Johanna Lindsay or the Spy series from Julie Garwood. I’ve read those books so many times and now I find myself rereading Grace’s books.” -Vivian, Amazon

Sadly a DNF for me. I just didn’t like the style of writing. I liked the storyline and the fact that it takes the reader into the darker side of life in that time period.

What do you do when then child you saved grows into the woman who will not take no for an answer.
When she insists on loving you no matter what.
And when you finally find yourself falling for her against your better judgment.
Read on, Grace Callaway has thought of everything.
Every challenge, twist and turn is brilliantly executed, wonderfully written and enjoyably satisfying to read.

This is a really delightfully written first book in this very promising series. It is a story with plenty of suspense and emotion. All the characters are amazingly crafted and magnificently portrayed. This is a tale that gets a little steamy at times and will keep you enthralled all the way through.

Another fabulous series starter by the super talented Grace Callaway. Olivia and the Masked Duke is the first in the ‘Lady Charlotte’s Society of Angels’ series [yes, it is a witty and fun take on ‘Charlie’s Angels’]. It can be read as a stand-alone story, but it is linked to Grace’s previous series’ Heart of Enquiry and Game of Dukes which were fabulous, so you do get an added appreciation if you have read those.
Ever since she was rescued from drowning at the age of twelve by the Duke of Hadleigh, Lady Olivia McLeod has maintained a treasured friendship with the troubled Duke. Now she is a debutante, Olivia realises that the friendship has turned into an all-abiding love. When Hadleigh rejects her, Olivia throws herself into her second love – solving mysteries by joining Lady Charlotte Fayne’s secret organisation ‘The Society of Angels’ with her best friends Miss Fiona Garritty and Lady Glory Cavendish. Her first case throws her into danger but also entangles her into an investigation Hadleigh himself is involved in. Olivia definitely hasn’t given up on her stubborn hero. Can she convince Hadleigh that he is worthy of her love?
Benjamin Wodehouse, the Duke of Hadleigh has lived a life littered with bad choices with terrible consequences. He has indulged in every vice and survived a toxic marriage. Now reformed, Ben knows he is beyond redemption but finds a sort of peace in helping others. The one spot of sunshine in his bleak life is his uncomplicated friendship with Olivia. When Olivia declares her love, Ben is jolted into the awareness that his ‘little queen’ is all grown up now and an alluring young woman. But Olivia is the one thing forbidden to him. Ben is determined never to taint her with his darkness despite the yearning she has awoken in him.
Olivia is a really fun heroine. The daughter of Alaric and Emma from possibly my favourite of Grace’s books The Duke who Knew Too Much, she is every bit as I imagined their daughter would be. Smart, fearless and feisty, she knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to fight for it. She is young but is sensible and grounded. Her love for Hadleigh wasn’t a childish fancy but a realisation that they were soul mates.
Ben is possibly one of Grace’s most tortured heroes. He has made many mistakes in his past which had real harmful consequences to people’s lives and it was a long and torturous road back for him. He is constantly tormented by his past actions and your heart did go out to him as he had such difficulty in believing that he was worthy of a happy ever after. His redemption was highly deserved.
I’ve been looking forward to reading this book ever since it was announced, and Grace has certainly not disappointed. Olivia and Ben are so wonderful together. It is rare to find a match where the H&h share such a deep bond. Olivia may have been a little naïve to the realities of Ben’s past life, but she knows and understands him like no other. She is steadfast in her devotion to him and is truly the balm to his wounds. The flashbacks also gave the reader a true insight into the nature of Ben and Olivia’s connection and explained Ben’s past. Since Olivia was so young when they first met, it could have been a little icky but you can see how they went from a truly sincere friendship to suddenly discovering their love. I think Grace used the flashbacks so well to bring that across to the reader.
I loved that we got to see many of our favourites from past series. Loved seeing Alaric and Emma together and we got a glimpse of Gavin and Percy as well.
I was lucky enough to recieve an ARC from the author and the views are entirely my own. I definitely recommend you pick this up. This book has it all – lead characters you truly love, fabulous side characters, murder, mystery, action and a generous helping of steam and romance!

I felt the story line to be stupid and extremely unlikely. The prose was nicely written and the editing decent, but some details were way off. Livy is wearing a coronet at a formal dinner; the only time coronets are worn is at Coronations, so that would not have happened. Children eating at a formal dinner table; not done. The Duchess cooking something for her husband? Difficult to contemplate. I will not bother with this author again, even if she has won awards for her writing. One always suspends belief with a novel, but my imagination could not stretch enough to embrace this story. The author also kept harping on the age difference but in that era it was far from uncommon.
