Just really disappointed in this book. the concept is appealing but the recipes are not written well, not organised well
having now tried to follow a few, its been abysmal
frustrated, as i liked the narrative from the outset

I read kwoklyn wan grew up in Chinese kitchens was into cooking from a young age and has done everything. Well if this is true he should know how awful his tried and tested recipes are. Page 99 glazed sticky pepper chicken said use half a cup of dark soy and half a cup of water and two tablespoons of black pepper but it’s going to taste too peppery and way too salty. His proportions are way off! I smell something is off about this book. I gave it two star because of the effort of making the pictures in the book look nice but it wasnt kwok well done photographer Sam Folan.
