This is a nice edition to read. The text is a readable size. The unfortunate thing is that most of the illustrations from the original editions have been omitted, which was disappointing.

Great product, bought one set as a gift and had to order one for someone else once they seen it.

Books are great, but unfortunately three of them have been damaged. Creased and damage on the covers, front & back. Rather disappointing having bought them as a set rather than individually. The box/packaging wasn’t damaged at all so one can only assume they were posted with the company knowing they were already damaged 🙁

These books are 100% better than the films, and have loads more characters, would highly recommend

Our daughter got handed a Mary Poppins book by school for home reading. We’ve taken to the musical and the she has seen the movies several times each so that she knows the songs in and out. We diligently feed thebirds around the St Pauls on a monthly basis. And she has even shook hands with Mary herself in Disneyland! So as a fanatic Poppins lover, and believer, she loved that single book. And soon the question came if there was more material. That’s when I stumbled upon this P.J. Travers set.
In its sweet pastel colours the books is already made a great birthday gift. Other than that the books have a soft cover wit the text printed on plain coarse paper, with a few illustrations in black ink.
The books provide much more dept to the the Poppins story than we are used to from the Disney movies, and the quite different but very exciting musical.
In total you get 6 stories as the last book comprises two stories.
The Mary portrayed in the books is different from the sweet and impeccable Julie Andrews. This notion actually makes the Saving Mr. Banks movie about P.L. Travers more interesting. In this original material Mary is more cranky, snippy and vain. But still in such a manner so that children remain drawn to her. So there is little supercalafrajalisticexpielidotious-ness. Nevertheless, the short adventures with Mary are thought-provoking and simply a good read.
Maybe I shouldn’t say it but Mary Poppins from the books may have been surpassed by the superior less flawed movie-Mary.
